Your brain works at many different frequencies. It all depends upon the state of your consciousness.

Whilst deeply sleeping, your brain operates at lower frequency than when you’re awake – or focused on a complex task.

Rejuvenating and therapeutic sleep only occurs when your brainwaves are within a frequency range known as “delta.”

Delta is where your mind’s thought process and thinking stops…so you can fully recharge your body and mind.


Insomniacs cannot fall asleep or stay asleep, mostly due to “mind chatter.”

You see, insomnia is often the result of your mind nagging you with thoughts and anxiety. In such a state, your brainwaves are either “gamma” or “beta.” Being in this state of consciousness is like drinking a couple pots of coffee before crawling into bed.

You brainwave frequencies are unable to slow down to “delta” when you are stressed or plagued by non-stop, 24-hour, nervous energy.


Scientists and researchers have found a way to activate every single brainwave frequency…including “delta.”

This process is known as “brainwave entrainment.”


Your level of alertness is closely linked to whatever frequency dominates your brainwaves.

Your brain goes through quite a few different states during each day. Each level of alertness or state of mind has a corresponding, unique frequency.

Your brain’s primary five frequencies are:

  1. Gamma (> 40Hz) – Highly active, perceptive, and fearful
  2. Beta (13 – 40 Hz) – Alert, focused, and active
  3. Alpha (8 -12 Hz) – Calm, relaxed, and creative
  4. Theta (4 – 8 Hz) – Deep meditation, light sleep, and dreams
  5. Delta (less than 4 Hz) – Deep state of sleep

What does all this mean to you?

It means that your brainwave frequencies, feelings, and state of mind are all connected.

If you’re feeling calm or relaxed, you’re experiencing an “alpha” state.

But, if you’re highly active or scared, then you’re in a “gamma” state.

To enjoy deep satisfying sleep, your brainwave frequency must drop from higher frequencies such as gamma, and beta – to lower frequencies of alpha, theta, and eventually delta.

This can be difficult.

After a busy and hectic day, your brain often remains in a beta state of alertness or stress.

This prevents you from relaxing…and sleeping.

Because, the quicker you achieve theta and delta states, the quicker you can unwind and drift off to sleep.
